Abstract: | Abstract I have analyzed three parts of pigeon pea to know the nutritive value using approximate analysis of food. The Trail was conducted with three bulls cannulated baggara cattle with average weight 250 Kg so as to determine the three parts of pigeon pea on dry matter disappearance rate. I used the Nylon bag technique to determine the dry matter degradability in the rumen. All these parts of pigeon pea incubated in the rumen for different time periods 3, 6, 12, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours to determine the dry matter degradability in the rumen. I found that the highest rate of degradability of the three parts of pigeon pea were in the time of 96 hours. Accordingly it reached 95.1% for the seeds of pigeon pea, 83.1% for the leaves of pigeon pea and 42% for the stems of pigeon pea. |
