The objective of this research is to make study on Brucellosis in small ruminate in Khartoum and Gezira States. A total of 1000 serum samples were collected from goats and 200 serum samples from sheep in Khartoum State. Also 500 serum samples were collected from goats and 200 serum samples collected from sheep in Gezira State. A total of 500 milk samples were collected from goats in Khartoum state. Other culture samples collected from Khartoum State included 30 vaginal swabs, 2 fetal membranes of aborted goats and 4 stomach contents from fetal of aborted ewes The laboratory diagnosis depended on serological tests namely Rose Bengal test (R.B.T), Enzyme linked immune sorbent assay (ELISA) and serum agglutination test in serum samples. Milk ring test (M.R.T) and Rapid B. Brucella Ab test. Also Elisa test was used in milk samples as confirmatory test. Samples were cultured in selective trypton soya agar and Brucella agar media One isolation from goat fetal membrane was found to be Bucella abortus when stained by modified Ziehl Neelsen stain identified by biochemical tests and Polymerase chain reaction test. The sample was sent to veterinary laboratory Agency (VLA) in UK the result was Brucella abortus biovar6. Serum samples from Khartoum State revealed 1% and 9% in sheep and goats respectively when competitive Elisa test (cElisa) was used as confirmatory test. viiIn comparison between Khartoum area and Khartoum North area the result was 5 to 10% respectively according to cElisa test in serum samples. Result of 0.5 and 0.8% in sheep and goats serum samples respectively in Gezira State were obtained when using competitive cElisa as confirmatory test. In Khartoum State the positive results were 36 (7.3%) out of 500 milk samples when milk ring test was used as screening test and 30 (6%) when milk Elisa test was performed.en_US
