This is s case control study carried out in Khartoum state in Maternity Hospitals during the period from June2012 to September 2012 .Fifty hypertensive women with preeclampsia were selected 25 during pregnancy and 25 after 24 hours post delivery, in addition to 20 healthy pregnant women were selected as control group. The study group selected with age range 18and 45. Four and half ml of venous blood was withdrawn from each participant, placed in a test tube containing tri sodium citrates which act as anticoagulant. Prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) and fibrinogen level were measured using an automated coagulometer adjusted at 37C⁰. The results showed increased number of subjects aged group between (25 and 35) years, 30 particepants.Insignificant increase in PT in pregnant women with preclampsia compared to control group (P value <0.05) and insignificant increase in postpartum group compared to control group. APTT showed significant increase in preeclampatic pregnant group compared to control group. Postpartum group also showed significant increase when compared to control group (P value < 0.05). Fibrinogen level showed significant increase in both groups compared to control group (P value <0.05). There was insignificant increase in PT,APTT and fibrinogen level according to age group .PT and APTT increase insignificantly in pregnant women with preeclampsia compared to post partum group but fibrinogen decrease insignificantly (p value>0,05). This results showed that PT in preeclapmatic women was increase insignificantly while APTT and fibrinogen level are increased significantly so the determination of these parameters are recommended to prevent bleeding complicationsen_US
