Abstract:	OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study is to evaluate the role of Ultrasonography in the detection of enlarged prostate, their incidence in Pakistani men and comparison with previous studies. This study depends on the practical scanning through which data was collected in a data sheet. It was conducted from February 2006 to November 2006. METHOD: One hundred patients were scanned at three different institutions of Pakistan, which includes; Alfalah hospital Sangjani Islamabad Pakistan. Afro Asian Institute of Medical Sciences, 626 Shadman 1, Lahore Pakistan. Gilani Ultrasound Center, Ferozpur Road, Lahore Pakistan. RESULTS: Out of 100 patients with history of enlarged prostate were examined and the following results were found; Normal prostate = 30 % Enlarged prostate = 52 % Acute prostatitis = 11 % Prostate with cysts = 04 %
