Abstract

He explains in interesting detail that it is technology particularly of modern communication and of accessible air transportation that has enabled and advanced the spread of English across the world. In addition to making clear the means by which the English language has been learned and spoken by an unprecedented number of people, Crystal is thorough in his explanations of when, why, and by and to whom English has spread. Throughout English as a Global Language , provides clarification on historical events that are crucial to his points . The motivation behind the choosing this book, because English is the language of science, aviation, and movies thus it is everywhere around us, and we are in a considerable need to catch up with development and progress. I have translated the first – tow parts of this book, which explain how English has reached this status, and what are the factors be hind the spread of the language, also whether it will be in that status? Moreover what are the threats that will be faced in the future? Will this language endure in front of these challenges? Or will it be inflected with other dead languages? This resear ch will answer those questions.
