| Abstract: | This study aimed to study the effect of laser radiation on treatment of dermatologic diseases, specially warts and hemangiomas, using diode laser device. Diode laser of awavelength of 940nm was used to treat 20 patients, 10 of them are suffering from warts and another 10 suffering from hemangiomas. The rate of cure in case of the warts was high, it ranged between 100% to 60%. As for hemangioma disease the rate of cure is extremely low (i.e. no observable progress). Results of above treatment reveals the fact that use of this diode laser instrument is appropriate for treatment of wart disease and in appropriate for treatment of hemangioma. The scientific explanation of these results lies upon the fact that wart disease is superficial, whereas hemangioma is deep sited. Accordingly, wart disease requires short wavelength for successful treatment, a thing provided by the diode laser of 940nm. On the other hand, hemangioma, being deep sited, require appropriate wavelength for purpose treatment, which couldn't be provided by this diode laser instrument. From above study and research work we arrived to the conclusion that diode laser instrument of wavelength 940nm is appropriate for treatment and cure of wart disease, but inappropriate for treatment and cure of hemangioma disease. |
