Abstract: This research deals with one of the Digital Signal Processing (DSP) applications and its importance in computer systems and multimedia applications, and that by designing an external sound card for personal computer. This research provides a summary of the different types of sound cards as well as to explain how they work and their characteristics and advantages of each type. The previously mentioned facts were covered in the first section of the thesis, also came detailed explanation of the delivery process in Computer Interfacing. The third section dealt with the practical design steps of the circuit and its components to explain how it works, that after testing and designing the circuit with Proteus VSM Design Suite - electronics simulation program. Section four and five contained steps of the configuration and demonstration of the device driver created to drive the circuit, and the work of practical tests and discuss the results. The end of the research dealt with the final results of the project as well as future vision and recommendations.
