dc.description.abstractThis is a descriptive analytical study that has been carried out in three hospital in Khartoum to study some hematological parameters in patients with sickle cell anemia and sickle cell trait in the period from November 2008 till January 2009. 200 suspected sickle sample will collect, after do Hb – electrophoresis , 100 will found in sickle cell anemia and 40 sickle cell trait also CBC was done for all of them. As expected the Hb , RBc , HCT were lower in SS pts than in AS subjects. Interestingly Hb values were slightly higher in females than males MCV values were slightly higher in females than males but MCH, MCHC were slightly lower in females than males. White blood cell and platelet count were higher in SCA patient than sickle cell trait.en_US
