Abstract: This study was done during the period of May to August 2005; it was conducted to establish the frequency of ABO and Kell (K, k) blood group system antigens among apparently healthy Alshuluk Sudanese tribe individuals. Hundred individuals (54 males and 46 females) were selected according to certain criteria and interviewed using questionnaire form. Venous blood samples were collected from them and analyzed in the Sudan university hematology laboratory using conventional antisera and gel diffusion technique. SPSS computer program was used for data entry and analysis. The results obtained showed that the frequency of KEL 1 and KEL 2 antigens is 0%, 100% respectively. The frequency of A and B antigens is 28%, 21% respectively and as a result the frequency of ABO blood groups is as follows: Blood group A 24% Blood group B 17% Blood group O 55% Blood group AB 4% There was no difference in Kell (K, k) antigens frequency between Alshuluk males and females, where there was a significant difference in ABO antigen frequency.
