| dc.description.abstract | This is across sectional analytical study conducted at Um Rawaba teaching Hospital and Alobaid teaching Hospital. The study performed in 120 patients EDTA blood samples were collected to perform the hemoglobin electrophoresis, estimate of Hemoglobin (Hb), Packed Cell Volume (PCV), Red Blood Cells (RBCs) count, Mean Cell Volume (MCV), Mean Cell Hemoglobin (MCH), Mean Cell Hemoglobin Concentration (MCHC), Total White Blood Cells (TWBCs) count, platelets count, Reticulocyte, and Differential count. Samples were collected from known patient SS=70, AS=16, SF=4 and AA=30 as control, from male and female. Distributed per tribes and ages was reported. The study showed there was significant decrease Hb6.6g/dl, PCV20.5% and RBCs2.3x1012/L p-value 0.00 in HbSS and Hb AS there was no differences between sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait of full blood count due to area of meal nutrient, there was difference between healthy and sickle cell disease significant decrease Hb, PCV and RBCs p-value0.00 in HbSS and significant increase Hb, PCV and RBCs p-value0.00 in HbAA, Significant increase TWBCs and plt p-value 0.00 in Hb SS. In sickle cell disease (Hb), (RBCs) and (PCV) was low compare with control but (Mcv), and (WBCs) was high, some time is high due to infection. The reticulocyte and nucleated red blood cells (NRBCs) are present in high number than normal level p-value 0.00. | en_US |
