dc.description.abstractThis study was carried out at the period between September 2006 and January 2007, in Muscat-Ibra Sour Oman , and at Pakistan at Lahore. 100 patients with renal cystic diseases were studied, 59(59%) of them were females, and 41(41%) were males. Most of the patients were housewives 59(59%), and 23 (23%) were farmers, and 12(12%) were embloee. 87 (87%) were symptomatics with the most common symptoms abdominal and loin pain in81 (93%). Most of the cases are due to simple cysts 82 (82%), 12 (12%) were degenerative cysts, 6 (6%) were autosomal dominant polycystic kidney diseases, 3(3%) of them were autosomal recessive polycystic kidney diseases, one of them is Meckel-Gruber syndrome. In most of the patients only one kidney is affected 91 (91%), and only in 9(9%) the two kidneys were affected. The size of the cysts in 66 (66%) is small about 2cm in diameter, and the membrane is thin in most of the cases, no thickened membranes, or calcified membranes. Most of the cysts appeared as anechoic, no internal echoes, or calcifications, or septations. Most of the cysts exhibited posterior enhancementen_US
