Survey study for MRI safety in MRI Centers in Khartoum State

Abstract

The objective of this study is to survey the safety measure in MRI centers in Khartoum state, the study has been done in four MRI centers in Khartoum state they are; 1- Khartoum MRI center (DOAA center) the magnetic power is 1Tesla. 2- Khartoum advanced diagnostic center (KADC) the magnetic power 1.5 Tesla. 3-Police hospital, the magnetic power is 1.5 Tesla 4- Yastabshiron hospital, the magnetic power is 0.2 Tesla. The study has been done during the period from 5 /11/2005 up to 5/5/2006. During this period of time there were 40 patients, 10 for each centers .then to know the safety consideration in four centers .By using the questionnaire and analysis the data statically, the flowing results are obtained. There is lack of safety measure in four centers, which include the patient, radiologist, other employee, also theirs lack of practice experience, and radiologist attendance during most of MRI examinations
