Abstract: Across-sectional study conducted during the period from March to September2012 to estimate the plasma albumin, calcium, magnesium and copper. Sixty Sudanese with tuberculosis were selected as a test group from Abo Anga hospital in Khartoum state, Sudan. The test group was compared with a control group which included 40 apparently healthy volunteers. Blood specimens were collected from both groups and plasma levels of albumin, calcium, magnesium and copper were estimated. Age and gender of the test group were matched with the control group. Albumin was measured using a chemical method from Spinreact and autoanalyzer reader. Commercial kits from Biosystem company and spectrophotometric method were used for measuring plasma calcium and commercial kits from Crest biosystem were used for magnesium and copper. Statistical package for social science (version 11.5) computer software was used for data analysis. Result of this study indicated that, there is insignificant different in the means of the plasma levels of albumin ,calcium and magnesium with significant increase in plasma copper of test group when compared with the control group. The present study showed insignificant correlation between the plasma level of albumin and the duration of disease .Also the result of present study showed a significant weak positive correlation between the plasma levels of calcium and the duration of disease .Also the result showed insignificant correlation between the levels of magnesium and the duration of disease .Also the result of the present study showed significant weak negative correlation between levels of copper and duration of disease .Also the result showed insignificant correlation between the levels of albumin and the levels of calcium .
