Abstract: Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by various strains of mycobacterium, usually mycobacterium tuberculosis. The aim of this study was to measure platelets, C-reactive protein and fibrinogen levels, This was analytical case control study, conducted during the period from June to August 2013, 40 Sudanese with tuberculosis were selected as test group from Abo Anga Hospital in Khartoum state. The results of test group was compared with control group which included 20 apparently health volunteers. Blood specimens were collected from both groups and platelets, C-reactive protein and fibrinogen levels were measured. Gender of the test group were matched with the control group, Platelets was measured using automated hematology analyzer sysmex KX-21 N, commercial kits from NycoCard® and NycoCard® CRP Single Test were used for measuring C- reactive protein, commercial kits from FIBRI PREST ® 2 were used for measuring fibrinogen levels, the results were analyzed using SPSS computer software program (version 14.0). The result of this study indicated that there was a significant increase in the mean levels of platelets (393.45 ± 158.2 x103/ul) and C-reactive protein (6.5 ± 2.24 mg/l) and fibrinogen (389.58 ± 113.7 mg/dl) of patients compared with control group (p value 0.00). In conclusion tuberculosis patients in this study have thrombocytosis, increased C-reactive protein and elevated fibrinogen level.
