Abstract: This is a retrospective descriptive study conducted at Khartoum state, at different hospitals and Sudan University of Science and Technology during the period between May to October 2007. This study aimed to detect the expression of p53 oncogene and corpora amylacea in tissues affected with prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia. 44 samples were selected and classified into four categories; four samples diagnosed as well differentiated adenocacinoma, eight samples diagnosed as moderate differentiated adenocarcinoma, twenty two samples diagnosed as poor differentiated adenocarcinoma, and ten samples diagnosed as benign prostatic hyperplasia. H&E performed to confirm the previous diagnosis. TP53 oncogene was identified using immunohistological method, and avidin biotin technique, corpora amylacea was identified using periodic acid Schiff's. This study found that there was association between expression of p53 oncogene and corpora amylacea with different pathological condition. Further studies are recommended to confirm this finding.
