Cigarette smoking is a deadly habits, it causes many deaths around the world by affecting on the heart, lungs, and any organs in the body leading to formation of clots, or tissue inflammation. So this study is aimed to measure the influence of smoking on plasma of C-reactive protein and fibrinogen levels among the smokers and non – smokers in Khartoum state in 2013. (100 samples were taken), 70 samples were collected from health males smokers aged were 20-67 years, smoking more than 5 cigarette/day, for more than 5 years duration, 30 samples were collected as control from non – smokers males. All the samples were well prepared, stored, and suitable reagents for each method were used. A clauss method, of coagulometer was used for measuring of fibrinogen level, while I – chroma reader was used for measuring of CRP level. It was observed that the mean fibrinogen levels were high in the smokers than non – smokers at p-value (0.000), while the C-reactive protein level were slightly elevated in smokers than non- smokers but with no significant difference at p-value (0.129). And there was an observed elevation on the mean of Fibrinogen levels according to ages groups, number of cigarettes/day, and duration of smoking, by meaning once ages increased with increasing smoking on the day for a long period can affected by elevated the fibrinogen level. Also on the C-reactive protein level was observed the same affect according to ages, number of cigarettes/day and duration of smoking by elevating to the C-reactive protein level once it increased. In conclusion smoking could lead to slow in the blood flow, by formation of clots, and tissue inflammation as result to elevation on fibrinogen and C-reactive protein levels which leading to appear of heart attack and lungs problems.en_US
