Prevalence of Fatty Liver in Diabetic Patients Type Two Using Ultrasound

Abstract

This is study deals with the ultra sound finding of the liver for diabetic patients type 2. . The main objective of study to estimate prevalence of fatty liver in diabetic patients type 2. The study was conducted at kosti teaching Hospital in the period from July 2010 up to December 2010. all the patients had done u/s examination in the u/s department hospital .the machine used in the study is Toshiba with 3.5 MHZ and convex prope . all patients scanned Tran abdominal with supine position technique The data was collected from 50 patients (male and female) reported as patients of diabetes mellitus type 2. The data sheet included sex , age , type and duration of disease , liver size and echogenicity. This data was presented on tables and graphs. The age of patients up to 40 years. The study comes to conclusion that the fatty liver is common finding in T2DM patients. The prevalence of FLD is much higher in patients with T2DM. The high frequency of fatty liver found in middle age (54-60) years old in the collected data . The study data showed that the high frequency of fatty liver in male 82%. Increase the prevalence of fatty liver disease with age.
