Abstract: The objective of this study was to determine the level of liver enzymes among Sudanese diabetic patients and compare it with a healthy control group. Cross –sectional descriptive study was conducted in Dongola town during the year 2013. The study included 130 subjects, 80 of them were diagnosed as diabetics and 50 of them were apparently healthy individuals as control group. 55% of case group were males and 45% of them were females. Venous blood sample were obtained from all participants and serum enzymes activity were measured by spectrophotometic method. The study Showed that there was significance difference of ALT and ALP , ALT and ALP were increased in Diabetic patients rather than control group , but the level still in the normal range , and insignificance difference of AST between case and control group. According to our finding liver enzymes in diabetic patiet do not influnced by type,duration and sex expet ALT level between male and female.
