Effect of Chemotherapy ((Cisplatin&Carboplatin)) on Urea, Creatinine, and Uric acid Levels in cancer patients

Abstract

This research was done to study the effect of two kind of chemotherapeutic agent (cisplatin and carboplatin) on renal function tests .((urea, creatinine, and uric acid Seventy-five samples were taken from patients with different type of cancer pre and post treatment with the drugs. Thirty samples were taken as control from apparently healthy individuals. Then urea, creatinine, and uric acid levels were determined. The results obtained pre and post treatment were statistically analyzed by using paired sample test and T .test correlation The result obtained from this study showed that statistically there were significant differences on the level of urea, creatinine and uric acid post chemotherapy drug but the elevation does not exceed the normal .range Renal function tests (urea, creatinine, and uric acid) had to be done before received chemotherapeutic drugs to confirm the integrity of the .renal system
