dc.description.abstractAbstract This research was conducted to study the economics of fish production and marketing in Khartoum state at 2009. The study depended on both primary and secondary data. While secondary data were collected from related sources, primary data were collected by means questionnaire from 75 fish producers, where random sample technique was used. Descriptive statistics, partial budget analyses and regression analyses were used to reach to the stated objectives. Results revealed that, the majority of fish producers were over 31 years of age (%65.3), all were male (%100), married (%62.7), have a family of 6-8 member (%58.7), obtain low education level (%36), and long working experience, live permanently in towns (%80), the majority sell their products at the farm gate (%70.7). The majority those who sold their products a way from the production areas used cars and ice (%55). The majority of fish producers used Gufaf to package their products (80%) . All fish types in the market were found in the production areas (100%), all producers sort their fish according to their type and fish throughout the year (100%). The study recommended development packages approaches to minimize the cost and support scientific research financially and technically to improve the hunts situation.en_US
