Abstract

Abstract The study aims to assess the socio - economic impact of immigration of the youths from the rural area –Omsomema village Umrwaba Locality North Kardufan State to the city - Khartoum state . A random sample procedure was used to select 100 immigrants from the total number of the community . The primary data are collect through field survey by questionnaire and analyzed by using the statistical program of the social science (SPSS) to calculate the frequency and percentage of the respondents and the more important obtaining results are: 1- 67% of the respondents were male. 2- 92% of the respondents were educated. 3- The majority of the respondents had their own business before they immigrated. And after the immigration most of them became officers and factory. Workers and other institution employee. 4- 93% of the respondents have obtained work after the immigration. 5- 82% of the respondents their reasons of immigration were economical reasons. v 6- Most of the respondents, their economical condition and living standard were improved after the immigration. 7- The majority of the respondents said that the services such as: education, health, electricity and means of entertainment are so weak. Based on the results the study recommends the following: 1- The social services in rural area and specifically education, health, electricity and water should be cater for. 2- Development activities that help the youths in their in comes should be availed. 3- The chance of work in rural area such as agricultural work and other agricultural investment should be availed. 4- The immigrants should establish social societies that join the youths who settled in Khartoum state that may help in supporting of their village
