Abstract: Prosopis juliflora pod, as unconventional feed ingredients was incorporated in broiler diets at o, 5, 10 and 15 percent levels with or without enzyme ( xylam). An experiment was conducted for 168 broiler chicks with 7-day old unsexed commercial (Ross 308) broiler chicks were randomly distributed in 8 groups (treatments) of 21 chicks divided to three replicates with 7 chicks/ replicate. Chicks fed on diet containing 5% Prosopis pod (PP) supplemented with enzyme recorded significant (P<0.05) heavy body weight, body weight gain and the best value for feed conversion ratio.Chicks on 5%(PPF) recorded significant (P<0.05) in feed intake, while all levels of (PPF) supplemented with enzyme recorded significant (P<0.05) differences. No significant differences were noticed in dressing, breast meat, drumstick and thigh percentage due to (pp) level or supplementation with enzyme. Also there were no significant differences (P>0.05) recorded for physical and chemical composition of broiler meat, feces chemistry and constituents of blood plasma. Enzyme supplementation apparently improved the general performance of broiler chicks in all the dietary treatments. Economically Prosopis pods can be safely included in broiler diets up to 5% with enzyme, without any adverse effect.
