Abstract

Abstract Impact of farm demonstration methods in up- grading of the skills of potato farmer’s and increasing of productivity In Elshihinab area. This study was conducted to investigate the impact of farm demonstration methods in up-grading of the skills of potato farmer’s and increasing of productivity in Elshihinab area which lies north of Khartoum state on the west bank of the Nile, the total population of the study area is 500 farmers among which of them a simple systematic random sample was used to select 50 respondents. The social survey was conducted through questionnaires, to collect the primary data needed to meet the objective of the study. The data have been analyzed with the computer using frequency tables, percentage, T–test and Chi-Square by using (SPSS) program. The study results obtained including: The majority of respondents their ages over 41 years, their education range between primary and the university level, and the majority of them are married. The majority of respondents are the owners of small size farms . Most of them used to grow potato for a long time, the study shows that the participation in demonstration farms was very high, and the plant protection from pests and diseases is more ways to follow and participate. The important recommendations are: v Extensive trianing programs to raise the skills level of farmers to increase their efficiency and their participation in the demonstration farms. Increase the numbers of demonstration farms as one of the most effective ways to deliver information to farmers.
