Abstract: This was a cross-sectional descriptive study done at different Hospitals in Khartoum- Sudan during from October to December 2020. The study aimed to measurement of the spleen in pediatric by using ultrasound. therefore, there is need to establish a baseline nomogram in our locality for spleen size. This is experimental study designed to determine the application of ultrasound for estimation of splenic length, width, thickness and volume of Sudanese pediatric population. This study was done on Fifty healthy school age (38 males and 12 females), age group between 2-15 years. It looks three measurements (length, width and thickness of the spleen. The results study showed that the Age group within the range of 2-15 years, with mean age 9.7±3.5 years. Males were 38(76%) and females were 12(24%). Male to female ratio was 3.2:1. Regarding body weight and height of the studied children, the mean values were 29.8±9.9 kg and 107.5±16.5 cm respectively. Normal values of spleen measurements in terms of length, width, thickness and volume were 7.7±1.1 cm, 6.6±1.0 cm, 4.0±0.7 cm and 559.7±72.2 cm3. In this study the splenic length compared with age, body height and weight of the child was found to be significantly correlated with these variables. the study concluded that the splenic length measured by ultrasound provides an objective and reliable way to assess the spleen size. Measurement of splenic length by ultrasound is reliable within and between technicians. Measurement of splenic width, however, is less reliable, as evidenced by only moderate intra- and inter-rater reliability.
