Abstract: Monitoring and analysis of the vertical deformation of the structures is one of the main problems in geodetic applications, which requires precise periodic measurements at different epoch. Dams are very important structures and the desired benefits are large and well known. It contributes to serve several purposes in development, economic and social stability in a large manner, to ensure continuous multiple dam’s benefits we must be sure of their safety and their ability to withstand all natural conditions. Merowe dam has been designed and constructed using advanced technologies. A comprehensive and advanced system for monitoring deformations in Merowe dam, using geodetic and geotechnical measuring devices, monitoring available in the measurement of vertical geodetic displacements. It is found that displacements increase with the filling and discharging of the reservoir, the maximum displacement is about 4.3 cm in the earth core rock fill dam, 3.4 cm in the embankments right dyke, 2.6 cm in the concrete faced slab rock fill dam right bank, 1.1 cm in the spillway concrete dam, 2 cm in the concrete faced slab rock fill dam left bank and about 2.6 cm in the embankments left dyke.
