Abstract: In many countries or electrical utilities , studies for cross-border interconnections and import and export of electric power are parts of the transmission expansion planning to meet energy demand and improve stability (ability to keep generating units operating in a synchronized manner after occurrence Disturbances in the system ), quality ( possibility of maintaining voltage and frequency within acceptable ranges ), reliability ( reduction of the expected risk of energy supply impossibility due to possible defects of the system elements ) and economy (reduction of the electric systems operation cost ), the research discusses how interconnection between Sudan and Egypt will have benefit effect on Sudan electric grid .
