Abstract: The aim of this study “using Literature to develop Reading Comprehension Skills” is conducted to find out the role of using literature in developing reading comprehension skills in tertiary level. The researcher adopted both descriptive analysis and empirical methods in this research. The population of this study consists of (60) students from first year in (SUST) and (30) lecturers from (SUST) as well. The Researcher used test “pre-test and post-test” and questionnaire to collect data. Having finished analyzing the data statistically, the study comes out with these findings: • Using literature in language courses helps students to develop reading comprehension skills • Using Literature in reading lessons help student to develop their vocabulary. • Literature presents valuable material to teach reading comprehension lessons. • Using literature in language classroom enhances students’ confidence to express their responses effectively during learning process. ‫’‪students‬‬ ‫‪develops‬‬ ‫‪Using‬‬ ‫‪Literature‬‬ ‫.‪interpretative abilities‬‬ ‫•‬
