Abstract:	The oil from Solanum melogena was analyzed by GC-MS.The analysis showed 16 components. The major components are : 9,12-Octadecadienoic acid methyl ester (47.38%) , 9-Octadecenoic acid methyl ester (21.71%) , Hexadecanoic acid methyl ester (15.54%), , Methyl stearate (9.63%) . Antimicrobial activity of Solanum melogena oil was conducted. The oil showed significant activity against G+ve Bacillus subtilis, moderate activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.
