The aim of the study was to determine seroprevalence of Chlamydia trachomatis infection among infertile women in three clinics for infertility in Khartoum during the period from September 2015 to December 2015. The study population age range was 18 – 47 years with mean 32.86 years. Serum samples were obtained and preserved at -20˚C and were tested by ELISA for detection of anti-Chlamydia trachomatisIgG. Specimens included 60 sera of infertile women and 30 sera of pregnant women served as controls. Among the infertile women group, 10 (16.67%) showed positive IgG ELISA for C. trachomatis; while none of the fertile group showed positive results. C. trachomatis infection should be suspected as a cause for infertility. However, infertile women should be considered for possibility of being infected by other sexually transmitted infections.en_US
