dc.description.abstractThis study is an attempt to explore the impact of Apprehension of EFL university students in writing performance to find out whether there are any significant differences between male students' mean scores and that of female students' in the performance of writing. The study also seeks to examine whether there are any significant differences in the mean scores of students of the University of Tikrit, College of Education for Human Sciences(CEHS) and College of Education for Women (CEW) and the University of Samara'a, College of Education (CE) in performance of writing. The objectives of the study which are supposed to be achieved by the end of the study are achieved through testing the following hypotheses: The average of Iraqi EFL University students' is within the theoretical mean scores in performance of writing. There are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of male students' and that of female students' in performance of writing ,and there are no statistically significant differences in the mean scores of students' of the University of Tikrit, College of Education for Human Sciences (CEHS) and College of Education for Women (CEW) and that of the University of Samara'a, College of Education(CE)in performance of writing.In order to verify the hypotheses of the current study to achieve its intended aims, a descriptive and analytic approach has been adopted besides two instruments, i.e. a questionnaire and an achievement test to help collect data.The questionnaire includes thirty items and distributes to the EFL students at the University of Tikrit (CEHS) and (CEW) and those of the University of Samara’a(CE) in order to assess students' apprehension of writing. The test is used to assess students' performance of writing. The two instruments have been applied to sample of 109 EFL fourth year University students. The study ends up with a number of findings and recommendations for further studies.en_US
