Abstract: This is descriptive cross-sectional study. was carried out to measure the frequency of (HIV,HCV,HbsAg,Syphilis,Malaria) among blood donors in Elnihowd teaching Hospital in the period (May –Jule2011). From three hundred donors (20year-60years) so this is divided to four group (20-30)(51.7%), (31-40)(29.2%), (41- 50)(15.1%), (51-60)(3.7%) from total population, the samples of blood were collected from them and examined by immunochromtagrophy (ICT) screening test against this diseases .The the result of study showed that 37donors(12.3%) positive for malaria which distribution as16donors (43.2%) among (20-30), 13donors(35.1%) among (31-40), 7donors(18.9%) among (41- 50),1donors (2.7%) among (51-60).32donors (10.7%) positive for HCV which distributed as 19donors (59.4%) among (20-30), 7 donors(21,9%) among (31-40), 4donors(12.5%) among (41-50) and 2donors(6.3%)among (51-60).28donors (9.3%) positive for syphilis so the high frequency appear as 15(53.6%) among(20- 31), 9(32.1%) among (31-40) and 4donors(14.3%) among (41- 50) .25 (8.3%) positive for HbsAg which is distributed as17donors(68%) among (20-30), 3donors(12%) among (31- 40),3donors(12%) among (41-50) and 2donors(8%) among(51- 60). and one (.3%) positive for HIV among (41-50).so from this study showed that high frequency of these disease appear in young donors among group (20-30) and (31-40) and there are no ‫.‪previous predisposing factor for transmission of this diseases e.g‬‬ ‫.)‪(previous blood transfusion or contaminated surgical equipment‬‬
