Abstract: This is an analytical cross sectional study, conducted during the period from 30 May to 22 June in Makkah Eye complex- Khartoum .The study aimed to evaluate prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin and platelet count among diabetic patients. One hundred sample were collected from diabetic patients, 59 male and 41 female of both type1 and type2 with age range )30– 80( years will mean 59years, and disease duration from 1 – 30 years ,34 have type1 and 66 have type2. Fifty control samples were collected from healthy non diabetic volunteers with same age group. All patients and control were questionnaires during blood collection about some clinical information. Blood samples and control were tested for PT, APTT and Platelet count using coagulometer and sysmex automated hematology analyzer respectively. The result obtained showed that most diabetic patients suffer from cataract in type2 more than type1, and most of the diabetic patients suffer from retinopathy. There was no significant difference in PT in diabetic patients compared with control group (P- value 0.78).There was significant difference in APTT (P- value.000) compared to control group. The Platelet count showed no significant difference between the 2 groups (P-Value 0.36).The study found that diabetes are affected in the eyes, in type1 of D.M. The results show that 23.0% of Type1 D.M have cataract, and 61.0% of Type2 have cataract, and the retinopathy.
