dc.description.abstractThis study aimed at investigating the impact of the Arabic language as a mother tongue on English phonemes among Sudanese Secondary School Students. The descriptive and analytical method were used as well as a test and a questionnaire as tools for data collection as well as the package statistical sciences ( spss) . The study sample was drawn from (30) Secondary School Students and questionnaires were distributed to (30) teachers from different Secondary Schools . The study focused on describing the segmental phonemes of both English and Arabic to show the influence of L1(Arabic) on L2 English as a foreign language. The study came up with the following important results : the first language(ARABIC) has an effect on the foreign language . The differences between Arabic phonemes and English play a big role in Sudanese Students mispronunciation based on previous results , the study has concluded in the same recommendations and suggestions for further studies in their appropriate places in chapter five .en_US
