Abstract: Power generation by means of gas turbine power plants is playing a major role worldwide. Wide spread application of a gas turbine in electricity generation and the dynamic nature of this system has doubled the necessity of its accurate modelling and variables control. Gas turbine is a complex system and highly nonlinear in its overall performance. This research focuses on development of a dynamic gas turbine model to simulate the response of the system with speed. The system response was simulated using Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller but the newer technology has brought into the fuzzy control algorithm to improve the performance of these turbines. This study presents the application of a fuzzy logic control algorithm in a better and efficient way to control the gas turbine. The whole system is developed and simulated on MATLAB/SIMULINK, along with the comparison showing the effectiveness of the proposed fuzzy logic control algorithm compared to the traditional PID control.
