In this study, speed control system has been designed for the heavy-duty gas turbine. The speed control includes three control loops: acceleration control - speed control -temperature control. Acceleration control determines the speed during the initial start-up period. Then, the speed/load controller is selected by a minimum selector to control the speed of the gas turbines. When the load increases, the torque increases and the speed decreases, the fuel should be increase to maintain the speed of the turbine at requires system. In this study, the gas turbine speed control system was modeled using MATLAB/SIMULINK and a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller was designed to improve system performance.en_US
