Impact Of Colonial Culture On African Culture (With Reference To The Novel Things Fall Apart And Arrow Of God As Comparative Study)

Abstract

The study aims to investigate of the impact of western cononial culture on African local culture .The study also aims to discover the colonial social sociopolitical , cultural and economic factors , which had been beyond Igbo society collapse and fall aparts . The researcher used the analytical descriptive method , in order to analyze Things Fall Apart and Arrow of God novels as comparing study . Through these novels the researcher focused on Igbo culture , traditions and how it was in pre – and post colonial period . So the reseacher has's concentrate on point of the internal and external conflicts among Igbo society , which exploited by colonizers and missionaries to infiltrate among them which led to the collapse of the Igbo community and the disapperance of their cultures . The study proved that the Africann culture has been effected by the western cultural invasion and become westernized .
