Abstract: In this research project we studied the theory of Fermi and the standard model of particle physics in some details. We calculated via a theoretically the cross-section of the elastic neutrino–muon and electron scattering in the Fermi theory and the standard model and found their values at 𝐸=4 𝑀𝑒𝑉 to be πˆπ‘Ίπ‘΄=πŸ“.πŸπŸ–Γ—πŸπŸŽβˆ’πŸ’πŸ’π’„π’ŽπŸ πˆπ‘­π’†π’“π’Žπ’Š=πŸ–.πŸ”πŸΓ—πŸπŸŽβˆ’πŸ’πŸ‘π’„π’ŽπŸ We have found that the cross-section in SM less than the cross-section in Fermi for a given energy. Furthermore, the Fermi theory breaks down at high energy but the standard model works very well at high energies.
