In this study Cajanus cajan(L.),Guera senagalensis and Zea mays were investigated.Different fractions from Cajanus cajan(L.) and Guera senagalensis were evaluated for their biological activity. The antimicrobial potential was measured via the cup plate agar diffusion assay and significant results were obtained .The ethanolic extracts of the targeted species were subjected to phytochemical screening which revealed the presence of some important phytoconstituents. A Fixed oil was extracted from Zea mays seeds via solvent extraction. The oil was then analyzed by GC-MS where 20 constituents were detected. This oil was also evaluated for its antimicrobial activity and moderate activity was observed.en_US
