Abstract: Power distribution systems are a very important part of electrical power systems. In order to transfer electrical power from an alternating current (AC) or a direct current (DC) source to the place where it will be used, some types of distribution network must be utilized. The method used to distribute power from where it is produced to where it is used can be done in a quite simple and accurate way to operate the system in a very good manner without any risks. The main objectives of this research is to understand the main components of the electrical distribution and feeder automation systems and to cover the instructions of the step7-300 software programming that deals with the programmable logic controller (PLC) to make a simulation programming representing a feeder automation substation.
