The aim of this study to evaluate the amniotic fluid volume in diabetic patient to show the effects of diabetes in pregnancy. The study was conducted on 49 women with diabetes mellitus pregnant women in the third trimester at period from December 2011 to April 2012.the study was conducted in Omdurman military hospital and alsoudy hospital. Ultrasound was done by using mindray 6600, 2200 with 3.5 MHZ convex probe .after measuring amniotic fluid volume by deepest pocket (large pocket) and AFI (4 pocket) in the third trimesters .it was observed that the AFI in millimetres in all patient with diabetes mellitus 26% of pt have increasing amniotic fluid volume. The largest type of diabetic in this research is type1 (38.8%) , type2 (36.7%) , (24.5%). It is concluded that the measurement of AFV by two measurement and compared with type of diabetic and diabetic status is important to show the effect of diabetic in pregnant women’s.en_US
