Abstract: his project we talked about the communication in satellite communications systems based on wireless, and focused our study on the topic of cell phone movement from the coverage area of the first satellite to the coverage area of the second satellite, and depending on the idea in second-generation systems “cellular systems-GSM” as well as in third generation systems “UMTS”, and this process known as the handover process. As well as reviewed the types of handover in the satellite communication systems as we discussed some of the problems associated with this process, such as the congestion problem and the problem of the handover failure and dealt with the some of the solutions expected to reduce these problems or prevent them if possible. Were also identified geographic area and have been studied and then was assumed three satellites to achieve and implement the handover process and determine potential problems and to imagine possible solutions
