This study was conducted in the research laboratory, Sudan University of .Science and Technology in the period from April to August 2012 The aim of the study was to determine the frequency and susceptibility .patterns of S.aureus among patients with conjunctivitis One hundred eye swabs were collected from patients with conjunctivitis .with different ages and sexes suffering from eye infection The isolates were identified by morphological characteristics on culture .and biochemical tests Antimicrobial Sensitivity was performed in vitro by disc diffusion .method The results revealed that, 47% was Staphylococcus species (35% S.aureus ,12% S.epidermidis), N. gonorrhoeae(9%),Streptococcus .pneumoniae(13%)and 31% no growth S. aureus was sensitive to vancomycin (100%), Ciprofloxacin (100%), Amikacin(100%), Gentamicin (97%), Nitrofurantoin (83%), .(Tetracyclin(77%) and Methicillin(17% S.aureus infection in children and young adult was more than adult and .elderen_US
