Abstract: The main aim of this study is to investigate the coherent and cohesive features in English M.A abstracts. At Sudan University of Science and Technology. The study takes the analytical approach in which the researcher analyzes thirty abstracts of different topics, to obtain the results, the researcher has carried out quantitative and qualitative analysis approach and the results were described in frequencies an percentages. The study has reached into some of the important findings as follows: The abstract writers in the thirty papers analyzed have used less cohesive devices when they wrote down their abstracts, which resulted in less cohesive texts and in turn less coherent though the general ideas of the abstracts were comprehended and can be under stood clearly , the study recommends the following :As coherent and cohesive features play vital role in M.A abstracts, researchers should take into account using these as possible.
