Abstract: Robotics is a key technology in the modern world nowadays. Robots are become the most important elements in any manufacturing process in the most factories because of the high accuracy, safety that robots provides it to human and the stability of work with less errors, that’s why robots takes the main role of almost every factory now days . Most factories around the world began to turn their work from single-purpose factory to multi-purpose factory. Multi-purpose production provides many types of products, thus, the sales and profits will increase, but, it also requires a lot of equipments and robots, therefore, the cost will be high for the construction. The main aim of our project is to control the movement of a material handling arm using FPGA controller with VHDL code. the advantages of FPGA over other controllers is that FPGA controller can provides the multi-purpose function that factories needs to reduce the cost of construction. FPGA is a fast and efficient system with high accuracy, parallel data processing and stability in performance, that’s why we prefers it from another controllers.
