Abstract: This study "Promotion of Authentic Material in Teaching English Language through Story Telling Technique – University level" is carried out to improve the standard of English language, because it is very obvious that English language at schools is declining and this follows, of course, with students who enter the universities. This is why the researcher held the experiment with her own students in the university. One of the researcher's assumptions of the decline in the language is the lack of motivation for both teachers and learners and implementing Story Telling Technique in teaching English Language will solve the problem. The results of the experiment held by the researcher were positive and confirmed the researcher's hypotheses. Chapter One: deals with the introduction as an orientation to the study. Explains the statement of the problem, hypothesis of the study, objective, significance of the study, samples and sampling. Chapter Two: deals with literature review including titles related to languages and English language, the philosophy, the importance, the origin, the history of language. And these issues are linked to teaching material and how they can be supplemented by implementing "story telling" as a motivating material with the background of "story telling" historical qualities which help in teaching English Language skills. It deals also with the relationship between story telling and psychology and some opinions of psychologists in story telling and Story Telling with Authentic Material and Science Education. Chapter Three: deals with Method and Procedure. It starts with reminding sentences about statements of the problem, hypothesis, objectives, samples and sampling. The method carried in the study is about implementing story telling in experimental group while the absence of this technique on the controlled group. Then to see the difference between the two groups by comparison through a pre-test and a post-test, analyses to the results and discussion was held. Chapter Four: states the results of the experiments which confirm the hypothesis. Chapter Five: deals with summary, the researcher sums up all that was done, linking it with the study, the experiment and the results extending it with promotion and recommendation to what would be applied at schools and universities and suggestion for future studies.
