Abstract: Hospitals and health care organizations possess a large number of medical devices and equipments, most of these devices and equipments are very complex and designed with modern technology. Hospitals must insure that their critical medical devices are safe, accurate, reliable and operating at the required level of performance. Equipments should be properly maintained and kept in a good running condition in order that they fulfill the objectives for which they were purchased. Even though the importance, the application of all inspections, maintenance and optimization models to medical devices is fairly new. Equipments failure may not always be apparent to clinical staff. Therefore they should be inspected periodically. Scheduled inspections help to ensure the safety and efficiency of medical equipments. In this study the software tool is developed to implement a risk oriented prioritization of devices for preventive maintenance inspections, were devices with higher criticality score can be assigned a higher priority maintenance management program. The data base contain the equipment inventory, and related data files. First established an effective, efficient planned inspection and preventive maintenance system, and then collected data of all equipments in hospitals or health care organizations entered to the system. The reports based on the inspection results, help in determining better scheduling than constant sweeping of all the devices
