Realism as Reflected in George Bernard Shaw’s on“Arms and The Man” and “Mrs. Warren’s Profession”

Abstract

This study , attempts to provide comprehensive explanations of realism that reflected in Shaw’s “ Arms and The Man” and Mrs. Warren’s Profession” by tracing its realizing . To achieve the aim of study , the researcher employs and uses the analytic and descriptive methods , and attempts to introduce and analyze some outstanding attitudes of “Realism” , in the two plays which are believed to be representation of it as attacking romanticism . Besides attempting of describing and analyses of realism , the researcher also presenting the differences phases between realism and romanticism in light of the two plays .Realism as significant principle , and ha its an important role of building societies ,and its must take a large area . Therefore the researcher concerns to present its aspects as a basic in deal through society . This study joins reality in society by presenting the ideas of Bernard Shaw in the two plays.Accordingly , chapter one , is an introduction , chapter two , literature Review which has been done in this field . chapter three , is realism in the two plays . And chapter four , concerns of conclusion , recommendations and suggestions for further studies . The researcher has set a recommendations in the conclusion to get benefits on this study , also the researcher concentrates on Shaw's ideas of love and marriage and war as they present in the two plays as items of realism.
