All specimens were tested by Rapid Plasma Regain test (RPR) and then confirmed by Enzyme Linked Immune Sorbent Assay(ELISA), 5% were positive when tested by RPR but 6% were positive when confirmed by ELISA. The result of the study prevalence of syphilis among pregnant women was (6%). According to the age 2%,3% were found positive in the age 30-35year, 24-29year, respectively when tested by RPR and 1%,2%,3% were positive in18-23year,30-35 year, 24-29 year respectively when confirmed by ELISA. 40% of pregnant women had previous abortion, 4% 0f them were positive to syphilis, while 60% had no previous abortion but 2% were syphilis positive.
