Abstract: This study has done in renal center in Sennar teaching hospital in ultrasound department .The main objective of this research is to To evaluate the kidneys of long standing hemodialysis patients using U/S, with aprobe of 3.5 MGHz frequency. The study data was collected from 50 cases under regular hemodialysis for 5 years or more, using questioner includes patient personal data plus ultrasound findings. The ultrasound findings showed that both kidneys are smaller than lower limit with 6.2 cm long axis for both kidneys and 2.5 for short axis.both kidney hyperechoic and lost of CMD,60% of them show multiple small cortical cysts57%are male 43% are female. 65% of male showed cystic change while 54% of female showed cystic change, patients above 60 show no cystic change while age between 31 to 45 71% of them showed cystic change. The study showed the importance of us in short and long term follow up of these patients and adjust suitable time for intervention.
