dc.description.abstract | This research presented establishment of quality control protocol in dental x-rays departments. The principal goal of a Quality Assurance program is to provide accurate and timely diagnosis. The secondary goal is to minimize radiation exposure to the patient.. The experiments were done and the results were daily and weekly to darkroom quality control test as shown safelight the length, angle and distance from dry bench which were less than the standard specifications (IAEA)for dental clinics. Regarding monthly, quarterly and semiannually quality control test , view boxes and darkroom fog were not available. repeat analysis, tube head and boom stability , screen and cassette cleanliness were passed results. the results of lead aprons, collars, collimation, focal spot, timer accuracy, KVp accuracy and reproducibility, mA linearity and exposure were showed good results. The results of repeat analysis 60% of repeat films due to patient positioning and motion during the examination, 15% due to light films due to short distance from dry bench and safe light (75 cm), 10% due to darkroom and 15% due double exposure in films . Regarding to patient motion during the examination most errors in motion were -1- mm, 1 mm, -2 mm, 2 mm, -3 mm, 3 mm , 4mm were 39, 25, 14,12, 5, 4 respectively. This motion can easily reduce by explained the procedure to patient before the exanimation. | en_US |
